Welcome to Algarve Boat Courses, based in Lagos, Portugal. We offer training to people in a safe and enjoyable way. Teaching them how to crew on and skipper with confidence many types of boats and yachts. Most tuition will be delivered by the school principal, Rob Harris, in a safe and fun manner.

We provide testing for motor boats and sailing yachts, allowing people to obtain a driving licence. A licence is necessary when chartering a vessel or when driving your own boat in most non UK and Ireland countries.

As an RYA recognised training centre for Power Boat and Motor Cruising full range of RYA courses for Motor Cruising and Level 1 & 2 for Power Boat on our school vessels or on your own boat. Please click on the opposite links for more information.

We do not have recognition to run RYA courses for sailing, however we do provide tuition specific to clients needs. If you wish to take a specific course we are more than happy to recommend several sailing schools here in the Algarve. Click here for further info

Considering buying your first motor boat, it can be a big help to have someone there who knows a bit about boats!! We help people to decide on what type of boat is best for them and give information on the real cost of owning a boat. We will help you short list some options and join you on your inspection, pointing out positive and negative aspects of each vessel.
