Welcome to Algarve Boat Courses, the longest established powerboat, motor cruising and jet ski centre in Portugal. You will receive training from the school principal Rob Harris who has been teaching since 2006, delivering courses in a professional, safe and enjoyable way.

Upon successful completion of a course we can help you charter a boat, many students end up chartering the boat we use on the course for their first solo mission!
Another of the many benefits of choosing ABC is that all boats used for training have a bimini (sunshade) which is essential here in the Algarve!
MOTOR CRUISING COURSES
Our RYA recognised school will teach you to skipper a motor cruiser. We can provide courses on a school boat or can give you tuition on your own vessel.
POWER BOAT COURSES
Our RYA recognised school will teach you to skipper a power boat. We can provide a powerboat course on our school boat or can give you tuition on your vessel.
JET SKI COURSES
The one day RYA Personal Watercraft (Jet ski) course has been designed to suit both first time riders and those with previous experience.
SAILING COURSES
Do you want to learn how to sail or to improve your existing sailing skills? We are here to help you.
SHORE BASED THEORY COURSE
There are quite a few shorebased theory options on offer, the most suitable course for you is dependant on your particular requirements and experience to date.

We are an RYA recognised training centre for Power Boat, PWC and Motor Cruising. All courses will be delivered in English, don’t worry if you are not fluent, Rob’s pace and style of delivery will make it easy for you to understand and he’s great at figuring out what you are saying!
We can train you on our school vessels here at our base in Marina de Lagos. We can run a course on your own boat throughout the Algarve, Portugal and worldwide.
ABOUT OUR SCHOOL
The school is an RYA recognised training centre for Power, Motor Cruising, Navigation, Theory and Jet ski, teaching people to skipper boats with confidence. We provide tuition on our own school boats or on your own boat. Our mission is to promote safety for all who put to sea or spend time on or near the water. This will be achieved by the highest quality training to RYA standards and will be backed up by the use of skilled tutors and instructors personally selected by the principal for their skill, knowledge, integrity and enthusiasm.
